Sound insulation in the apartment

Soundproofing under stretch ceilings

If you decide to make a stretch ceiling yourself, but you are worried about the noise of your neighbors from above, then the ceiling should be thinly soundproofed.

In 99% of cases, those who decide to soundproof the ceiling under the stretch ceiling are worried about impacts and structural noise from trampling, running, steps. As you know, the most difficult thing to get rid of is impulsive and structural noise because noise can travel from the ceiling to the walls.

How to do soundproofing under the stretch ceiling

This type of sound insulation is used only if you plan to create a stretch ceiling in the future. If you haven’t decided on the ceiling finish yet, or if you just want to save space and whitewash the ceiling, this technique won’t work. you’ll have to use a different technique. This material is low cost, light weight, good sound absorption and thermal insulation. Resistant to high temperatures. A disadvantage of glass wool is that the fibers are brittle and corrosive, making installation and cleaning difficult.
